My wife's 4 times Gt Grandfather, Richard Berry, was born and christened in Atherington in 1783 Father Thomas Berry but mother Elizabeth nee Buzacott. I have written his later life story in the Army but want to go back earlier.Deborah could be a relative.Richard joined the Devon fencibles at 14, did the Peninsular wars in the 44th, and with them went to America and helped burn the White House down, a brief period of farming at giffords, Atherington and then back in the Army to fight in South Africa and India. Dying in London in 1853
